We're back with the May Detail of the Month. This month we feature a 2024 Chevrolet Suburban High Country. The owner of this Suburban did an extensive amount of research before choosing our shop and the Modesta coating line. The owner also chose the full suite of Modesta coatings for the ultimate protection and that is why we are featuring it this month. Here's what we did:

• Modesta BC-06 Wheel Coating
• Modesta Leather Protection System

For a vehicle that sits outside 100% of the time, we came up with a proven system that will protect this jet black paint from the harsh Florida elements for years. We detail the benefits of each of these products below.

Prep and Paint Correction

This Suburban came to us with 3,000 miles on it. In jet black, it definitely needed a heavy amount of paint correction work to remove all swirls, scratches, and water spots. This process also prepares the surface for PPF and Modesta coating applications. The photos below are some "before" shots outside:





Paint Protection Film

SunTek Ultra Gloss applied to the highest impact areas to prevent this glossy black paint from peppering and chips from highway driving.



Modesta Coatings

We applied Modesta's strongest, most chemical- and scratch-resistant coating, BC-04. For a black vehicle that sits outside 100% of the time, we recommend Modesta's BC-06TC Top Coat which provides an added layer of protection against water stains, tree sap, and other environmental contaminates. Top Coat is applied over the BC-04 coating.

We have tested Top Coat on several client vehicles that sit outside 100% of the time and we cannot recommend it enough. It does have to be reapplied every 12-16 months, but we have discovered the value in keeping a near-perfect finish and clean coating with a vehicle that is not garage-kept.

We also applied Modesta's Leather Protection System (LPS), which is a two-part system that protects interior leathers from staining and abrasions. To ensure the best coating bond, we thoroughly prep the interior with a full steam clean detail. The coating is then applied in two stages over the course of 24 hours. This leather coating will provide up to 5 years of protection.

We also coated the wheels and calipers with Modesta's BC-06 High Heat Resistant Coating. BC-06 can withstand temperatures up to 900 degrees Fahrenheit. We then topped the wheels with Modesta's Top Coat. Again, the top coat provides an added layer of protection for that is beneficial for daily drivers and/or vehicles that are not garage-kept. This protection prevents permanent staining from brake dust and also makes for easy maintenance.
