Paint Correction, Full Front PPF, & Array of Modesta Coatings

PREP WASH

Before all the correction and coating work, this Porsche received a nice, sudsy preparation wash. We performed a double-bucket decontamination hand wash and then a clay bar treatment to carefully remove stubborn, stuck-on grime or particles that are otherwise hard to get rid of. This creates a squeaky-clean exterior that's essential to making any film or coatings adhere properly; any left over dirt or gritty, textured substances can create bumps or air bubbles during application, resulting in an uneven surface that's very noticeable.



LEVEL 1 PAINT CORRECTION

As you can see, this Porsche was beautiful as-is:

However, we really wanted to enhance the exterior to make it absolutely perfect. We ended up doing a two-stage Level 1 paint correction using a dual-action machine polisher as well as gentle polishing products. This service is intended for relatively minor imperfections, such as very light swirl marks and scratches, so it is perfect for a newer vehicle like this one that doesn't have any major, deep etching or indentations just yet. It very subtly corrects, just enough to take the paint from new to spectacular.

FULL-FRONT PPF

For the areas most susceptible to road debris and damage, we installed custom PPF across the full front of the vehicle. We included coverage for the:

• front bumper
• full hood
• full fenders
• headlights
• mirrors
• fog lights

This guarantees protection across very exposed parts of the vehicle that are usually the first to be impacted by damage or the elements. PPF creates a barrier that can then minimize the impact of these variables, helping reduce the risk of chips, scuffs, and other everyday damage.

MODESTA BC-05 (body)



After installing PPF, we then moved on to coatings. We selected Modesta BC-05, the brand's original premium paint coating, for use on this Porsche. We cured this product via heat lamps in order to properly bond it to the vehicle, forming a strong, glass outer coating for the body. Its composition allows the coating to almost fuse with the surface, enhancing both the appearance and longevity of the finish. This product is particularly known for giving cars that signature wet, glossy appearance, enhancing the shine tenfold.

Beyond its visual benefits, BC-05 provides protection against many of the contaminants that can degrade or break down automotive paint. Its hydrophobic properties cause water to roll effortlessly off the surface, helping reduce water spots and making regular washing easier. The coating also helps protect against scratches or chips from rocks, gravel, or twigs, splatter from bugs or other animals, oxidation, any chemicals, or any other environmental factors.

This product, along with many others we use at the shop, effectively combine both form and function to create results that not only stand out, but withstand time.

MODESTA BC-06 (wheels)

We also removed the wheels and coated both them and the calipers with Modesta's BC-06 High Heat-Resistant Hard Glass Coating. This product is engineered to withstand extreme heat, up to 1,300°C! That makes it particularly well-suited for use on areas of the vehicle that tend to get hot and experience a lot of friction, like the wheels. Beyond heat resistance, one of BC-06's biggest advantages is its stain resistance and ease of maintenance. When wheels meet the road, or a client uses their car for especially rigorous activity, dirt and other particles tend to kick up and cover the wheels and calipers; they also can get stuck in all the hard-to-reach nooks and crannies, making it hard to clean, rust easily, and overall resulting in more wear and tear. The resulting silica-based protective layer that BC-06 provides helps prevent things like brake dust and road grime from doing as much damage or adhering as much, meaning the wheels can stay cleaner for longer. We then paired this with the BC-06TC top coat to seal it in for even more protection. Below is the final result:

MODESTA EGC (front windshield)

To complete the exterior detail, we wanted to add Modesta's Exterior Glass Coating to the windshield so that the glass would be adequately protected, and not just the body of the vehicle. The benefits of adding this coating to the windshield include:

• Enhanced water-repellency, effective for rain - especially in a place like Florida that experiences constant, random downpours
• Easier maintenance - because of increased hydrophobicity as explained above, it also makes it incredibly easy to wipe and wash due to the extra slip this product provides
• Better resistance to grime - any bug splatter, oils/grease, or dirt that may accumulate on the glass will have a harder time sticking to it, making for a clearer and cleaner windshield

At the end of the day, all of these factors serve to make one's driving experience a lot safer, as it keeps the glass free of anything that could impair your field of vision. While it provides convenience and improves the appearance of the glass, most importantly, it keeps you safer while on the road. This is why treating your windows is so crucial.
