MAJOR RESTORATION W/ WHEELS-OFF DETAIL, LEVEL 3 PAINT CORRECTION, NEW PPF, & MODESTA BC-X
Hey Superior Detailer fam! Today is a special day as we're proud to feature our August Detail of the Month! For this month's pick, we're putting the spotlight on this dazzling 2014 Porsche 911 Turbo S in Black. This vehicle underwent a major restoration; even though it was structurally sound and had just 30,000 miles on it, aesthetically, it had seen better days. We wanted to change that.
We carefully removed the old paint protection film, which had severely deteriorated and peeled, and then followed with our premium wheels-off detail. The wheels, brake calipers, suspension components, and wheel wells were thoroughly cleaned and restored before we moved on to a Level 3 paint correction. This intensive correction process removed years of defects and significantly improved the paint's clarity and gloss. Afterward, we installed new paint protection film across the entire front end and doors to protect the most vulnerable, high-impact areas from abrasion and chips caused by road debris. To finish, we coated the film with Modesta BC-X, which provided easier maintenance, improved water repellency, and an extra glossy, showstopping finish.
Our client was ecstatic their vehicle had been restored to its former glory - and this project just proves that proper protection and some tender loving care can make a world of a difference in a car's appearance, functionality, and long-term value.

OLD PPF Removal & WHEELS OFF DETAIL
To start off this project, we slowly and carefully stripped the existing paint protection film from the exterior of the vehicle. The old film had become extremely worn down and yellowed over the years, and was no longer providing adequate protection for this Turbo. Because of this, debris was able to get between the damaged layer and the surface of the car, as well as allow the unprotected areas to accumulate scratches, swirling, and additional defects.
Additionally, we removed the wheels to access the wheel wells, break calipers, and suspension parts for a much needed clean and detail.

LEVEL 3 PAINT CORRECTION
Next, we proceeded with our Level 3 Paint Correction service. This is the most thorough, intensive paint service we offer and involves multiple stages. This is necessary for especially marred/scuffed exteriors. As you can see from the photos below, this Porsche 911 Turbo suffered from major scratches, etching, swirl marks, and water spots all over, and we wanted to reverse as much of the damage as possible so that it looked good as new. We applied a cut compound and medium polish to completely erase all major imperfections, went through a second time, and finally a third to completely refine the paint and create a smooth, shiny appearance, even before coatings.

NEW PPF INSTALLATION
Once the paint was perfected, we went in and expertly applied fresh PPF to the entire front end of the vehicle, including the front bumper, fenders, hood, headlights, mirrors, and fog lights. We also added a layer to both doors as well. When applied properly, the PPF acts as a physical shield or barrier that helps absorb impact from various elements that may be thrown the vehicle's way, minimizing and even preventing damage from occurring.
For this particular vehicle, we wanted to focus protection on the more vulnerable areas that are most prone to damage and tend to take the brunt of impact first. This way, the car receives fortification where it's needed most.
MODESTA BC-X COATING APPLICATION
As a finishing touch, we topped off the brand new PPF with Modesta's BC-X Paint Coating. This is a solid mid-tier coating that sits comfortably between BC-08 and Modesta's more premium coatings, and provides an excellent cost-to-performance ratio when you want something a bit *more* than just the standard, but are still wanting to keep budget in mind. It offers great hydrophobic properties, allowing dirt, water, and grime to wipe off with ease (making upkeep a breeze) - and it also protects exceptionally well against environmental wear and chemical exposure. Last but not least, it gives vehicles that signature, glassy finish that every luxury car owner covets.
