January Detail of the Month: Mercedes E-Class Ultimate PPF and Modesta Ceramic Coating Protection

ULTIMATE PPF & MODESTA CERAMIC COATING PROTECTION
The 2022 Mercedes AMG E53 4MATIC coupe is our January Detail of the Month. This 2022 Mercedes E-Class comes to Superior Detailer for the ultimate New Car Protection package. Spec'd to the nines, this brand new Mercedes in Obsidian Black is also now the most protected E-Class in Central Florida. A classic look, with exceptional performance and design one would expect from the Mercedes-AMG line, we so much enjoyed having this luxury vehicle in our shop.
Why is this Mercedes our January Detail of the Month? We chose this Mercedes to showcase the full body PPF and Modesta work we currently perform on all luxury vehicle types, not just exotics and supercars. This Mercedes-AMG is certainly deserving of all the protection. Protecting a vehicle to this level ensures minimal wear and tear, higher resale value, a unique finish that is incredibly easy to maintain, and an overall better driving experience for the life of ownership.
Here's a full list of what we did:
- Full Prep/Decon/Wash with wheels removed
- Light Polish/Correction to Exterior Paint Work
- Full Body Paint Protection Film (PPF) wrap with SunTek Reaction PPF
- Modesta BC-06 Wheel and Caliper Coating
- Modesta BC-05 Advanced Water-Repellent Glass Coating applied to exterior paint work
- SwissVax Interior Leather Conditioning with fabric protection applied to mats and carpet
- Smoke Tint applied to side markers and all tail lights
Full Body Paint Protection Film — SunTek Reaction
After the full prep and correction work described above Steve and I fully wrapped the entire vehicle with SunTek Reaction paint protection film. We chose this film based on client needs and expectations. The photo below shows the hood and front bumper application. We aim for the best, most visually appealing fitment.
I also applied custom tinted PPF pieces to the rear tail lights and corner markers on the customer's request. It provides a slight tint that is elegant, yet still unique. See below.
Why all that protection?
A full body PPF wrap will protect the entire vehicle from scratches, door dings/dents, rock chips, paint oxidation, and lots of other damage that occurs from simply daily driving and parking in the hot Florida sun. More and more consumers are finding the value in full body protection. It also just makes the car look nicer for the life of ownership. We wrapped everything including the roof, spoiler, and rear bumper! The owner could essentially daily drive this vehicle for 5-6 years and maintain a perfect exterior finish. If/when the owner chooses to sell the vehicle, the film can even be removed to reveal perfect Mercedes-Benz paint that is upwards of 5 years old.
Modesta Coatings
This brand new Mercedes in now fully protected with Modesta BC-05 Advanced Water-Repellent Glass Coating, which is our glossiest single-layer coating. Modesta BC-05 over film is our preferred choice for full body wraps. The Modesta coating ensures an easy maintenance process as it has strong hydrophobic properties and water-repelling effects. BC-05 protects the film from staining and oxidation, while providing a candy-like gloss that the owner appreciated.
We then protected the wheels and calipers with Modesta BC-06 High Heat Resistant coating. The wheel coating also repels dirt like a body coating, and therefore makes them much easier to clean than a non-coated wheel. Modesta BC-06 protects the wheel and it also enhances the look by adding a glossy effect as seen in the photo below.
