Happy Monday everyone! We're kicking off the start of the week by featuring this elevated, sleek 2025 BMW M2. As you can see from the pictures above, this vehicle in particular needed a good facelift - partially due to repeated machine washing, which ultimately resulted in a less-than-stellar finish that didn't live up to the car's potential. This M2 had also accumulated a lot of break dust, which needed serious intervention and protection to avoid further damage.
This is a moment that every driver of a luxury or performance vehicle knows well—that first time you notice those annoying light swirl marks or scratches from a machine wash, the caked-in buildup of brake dust the wheels have accumulated, or the dulling of paint that once used to glow. It thus raises the question: “Can you bring my car back to new—and make sure this doesn’t happen again?”

PREMIUM EXTERIOR DETAIL
The best results come from the best preparation. Before applying any Modesta coating or PPF to the vehicle, our team completed a full premium exterior detail designed to remove contamination that can dull paint, trap imperfections, or reduce coating adhesion. This included:
- Double-bucket decontamination hand wash
- Clay bar treatment to remove embedded debris
- Wheel removal to access the inner barrels & calipers
- Full wheel, wheel-well, and brake caliper cleaning
- Complete engine bay detail
- Tire dressing
- Spray sealant for temporary protection
This stage alone reverses much of the wear-and-tear caused by improper washing—including machine-wash micro-scratches and paint contamination. Many clients are shocked by how much gloss returns before we even begin polishing. But we're not done yet - the best is yet to come!
LIGHT POLISH/CORRECTION
Most drivers—especially BMW owners—know the struggle: Brake dust. A lot of it. All the time. And this M2 was no different.
BMW’s high-performance braking systems shed dust aggressively, and that dust can etch wheels if left untreated. Simply “washing” the wheels isn’t enough. To remedy the existing damage, our team performed a machine polish on the wheels to remove minor abrasions and imperfections, restoring clarity and shine and prepping the wheels for a high-heat protective coating. This step is essential for long-term brake-dust resistance. We repeated this same polishing process on the exterior paint of the body as well.

MODESTA BC-X Ceramic COATING

Once the vehicle was properly prepped, we applied Modesta BC-X, one of the best ceramic coating options on the market in terms of both cost and function. BC-X is a good mid-range coating option that sits perfectly between Modesta’s standard BC-08 and its more premium coatings, delivering deep, rich gloss, exceptional hydrophobic properties, and unmatched, shielded protection from outdoor elements when not kept in a garage.
These auto ceramic coatings don’t just add shine— more importantly, they protect against fading from UVA/UVB rays, chemicals, bird droppings, hard water, and environmental damage from rain, rocks, and tree branches. The durability and quality of protection matter just as much as aesthetics, which is why Superior Detailer uses products that deliver both.
Modesta BC-06 High Heat-Resistant Glass Coating

To protect wheels from the extreme temperatures generated by braking systems—especially those on BMWs—we applied Modesta BC-06, a heatproof glass coating capable of withstanding up to 1,300°C. This advanced coating:
- Forms a hardened glass layer through chemical reaction
- Resists staining from brake dust, salt, & road grime
- Reduces wheel cleaning frequency
- Maintains a freshly detailed look for months
We finished with BC-06TC, a hydrophobic topcoat that changes the coating’s behavior from hydrophilic to hydrophobic—making wheels shed dirt, dust, and water far more effectively. In the photo above, you can see the reflective glow of the IR lamp curing the coating on the wheels. These two products in conjunction with one another are the ultimate defense for complex braking systems that produce a lot of dust and grime.
