Summer 2023 is in full swing and what better way to kick it off than with a new Racing Yellow 2023 Porsche 911 Turbo S that's now shining as bright as the Florida sun!? I'm excited to bring you this Detail of the Month! It's been some time since I've written up a full post for you guys, and I know you enjoy seeing the full progress of our work.

If you've been to the recent Supercar Social event, then you've seen this car. We're pleased to protect this car for a repeat client who came to us for our PPF expertise and Modesta coatings. Check out the details below.

What is the Client's Need?

This particular vehicle will be driven hard. The client's concern is to PROTECT THE INVESTMENT. Our client comes to SD for our meticulous polishing techniques prior to protection, detailed PPF installations, and premium Modesta coatings. Like many vehicles we protect, this Turbo S came straight from the dealership to our shop for fully body protection. We work with the client to determine best level of protection that includes PPF and Modesta Coatings. Here is what we did:

• Wheels-Off Detail and Prep
• Light Polish to paint work
• Full Body Paint Protection Film application using premium SunTek Reaction PPF
• Modesta BC-X Coating application to all PPF
• Modesta BC-06 Wheel Coating applied to wheels and calipers
• Modesta Leather Protection System (LPS) applied to interior bolsters

Why do we choose these specific products?

We choose Suntek Reaction Paint Protection film for this vehicle because of its clarity, gloss, and durability. Our tests prove that this film is superior in terms of its durability matched with glossiness.

We choose Modesta BC-X because it is an easy-maintenance coating that works well over paint and PPF alike. It's designed for daily drivers and can be "put to work" right away, as we like to say. Knowing that this vehicle is going straight to the roads after leaving our shop is an important factor in our coating choice.

Our Detailing and Protection Process

Our protection process always starts with a full preparation decontamination wash. We then fully polish the vehicle for the "SD Shine" that our clients know and love so much. This is a step often skipped by many wrap shops. We truly correct any swirls and marring for a near-perfect finish. This polish and correction work creates the perfect foundation for PPF and Modesta coatings.



Disassemble and PPF Application

Paint Protection Film does have limitations, but we aim for the most seamless, invisible job possible. Doing that requires some disassembly. We remove the hood emblem and rear badges for a seamless installation on the hood and rear bumper. We remove the wheels and the headlights for a clean fender installation. We then remove the mirrors for a seamless door installation.

Modesta Coatings Application

The owner requested Modesta BC-06 for the wheels and calipers. Why? Modesta BC-06 is a high heat-resistant coating able to withstand temperatures up to 900 degrees Fahrenheit. The coating prevents burning-hot brake dust from damaging the wheels and calipers. It also makes the wheels incredibly easy to clean.

The Results

The Results are Superior! The paint is protected and the PPF is coated, which provides years of hassle-free PPF maintenance. Here are some other benefits of this work:

• Vehicle is fully detailed and polished for the absolute best look and shine
• We chose the best PPF brand and type, specific for this vehicle and client
• Modesta coating application on the PPF will improve the performance and maintain the integrity of the PPF. The PPF protects the paint, but the PPF can still get stained and water-spotted if not properly maintained.
• The wheel and caliper coating prevents staining and etching from burning-hot brake dust. The coating also makes it incredibly easy to clean the wheels after a track day or day on the open roads.
